Daftari helps shops and businesses record customer credit and repayments. This page explains what we store, why we store it, and how to delete it.
What we store
- Book names, and the names and mobile numbers of the customers the owner adds, and only those
- Source: Typed in, or chosen from your contacts
- Purpose: Restore the last successful copy on a new phone
- Amounts, entries, dates, notes, book and planning settings, and optional transfer details you enter such as an IBAN
- Source: What you record in the app
- Purpose: Save and restore your book
- Optional bill photos
- Source: A photo you take or select
- Purpose: Attach it to the entry and restore it with the book
- Your Apple or Google account identifier and your email if provided, or the email you sign up with and a one-way hash of its password (never the password itself). We email a temporary code when you request a password reset
- Source: When you sign in
- Purpose: To sign in, keep the book copy and link the subscription
- The subscription: its plan and its renewal or end date
- Source: The App Store or Google Play
- Purpose: To open the app after the free month
- An app installation identifier, your Daftari news choice, a notification token when enabled, and the app language and version
- Source: Your choice on this phone and its notification permission
- Purpose: Keep your choice and send optional Daftari news and offers; this record is separate from your account and books
- Daily counts of views and taps, with the app language, version and platform
- Source: Counts the app combines before sending when counters are enabled
- Purpose: Understand Daftari interface use and measure messages and offers; these counts contain no names, amounts or account identifier
- Book copy: books work on your phone. When connected, your account keeps names, amounts, entries, edits, notes, book and planning settings, and attached photos. Changed copies are saved at most daily after opening, or when you request a save. Recovery uses the last successful copy. Record on one phone at a time; there is no live sync between phones.
- Contacts: we never read or upload your contacts. When you pick a customer from your contacts, only that name and number reach the app.
- Daftari news: enable or disable it in Settings on each phone. Sending needs your choice and phone permission. The server keeps the disabled state to prevent late delivery. Apple APNs or Google FCM uses the notification token to deliver it. We do not use book data to select recipients.
- We never sell your book data. We do not use your book data for advertising or share it for marketing.
Who can see the data
- On your phone: the books and their amounts are on your phone, seen by whoever uses it.
- The service operator: the operator can access the book copy, including amounts and photos, to run, support and protect the service. Access through the administration panel is logged.
- Customer reminders: WhatsApp reminders are sent from your own phone. We never message customers.
Service providers
- Apple and Google: sign-in: we verify the sign-in directly and receive your account identifier, and your email if provided. We use no analytics or advertising service.
- Subscription: payment goes through the App Store or Google Play; we never receive the card details used to pay the store. We check the subscription directly with Apple or Google: it is linked to your account identifier with us, and we keep the plan and its renewal or end date.
- Hosting: account data and the book copy, including amounts and photos, are stored at Hostinger in France (European Union).
- Data is encrypted in transit.
Deletion
- In the app: Settings → "Delete my account". Your account and the full book copy, including amounts and photos, are deleted from the database immediately, and the books from your phone. Server backups expire within 30 days.
- Without the app: request deletion on the deletion request page. Requests are processed within 30 days.
- Before deleting: export is available during the free month and with a subscription. In-app account deletion also wipes this phone’s books and their photos.
